Via Colori 2015

Via Colori weekend went well! It is such an uplifting event! I am happy with the end result of my two days work despite extremely hot weather. A local radio station was out and made a YouTube Video.  My work is shown at around the second minute of the video.  The original painting is "The Sacred Family" by Pompeo Batoni, painted in 1760 and is currently on display in the Capitoline Museum in Rome.

These are my other two entries to the Fredericksburg Fine Art Exhibit. The left entry is called "Young Ballerina."  During the Via Colori event two years ago, there were performing ballet dancers combined with the street art.  I took a couple photos of them and did the pastel from the photos.

The second is a piece that I entered into the mixed media category.  It is watercolor and colored pencil and titled "Via Colibri."  I reproduced the painting on the street in chalk at Via Colori in 2014.
One of my entries in the 64th Annual Fredericksburg Fine Art Exhibit won third place in the acrylic category.  The painting int he lower left of the photo is titled "Lovely Place," and the one that took third place. It is a scene of a really nice downtown restaurant called Foode.  The piano player in the upper right of the photo is also one of my paintings that I entered in the show.  It is called "Almost a Fantasy."  The title is a play on the original title of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata," which was "Sonata Quasi Una Fantasia," meaning "Sonata Almost a Fantasy."
